How to Get a New Electricity Connection in Pakistan

Which DISCO you apply through depends purely on where the property sits. Pakistan is divided among 11 major distribution companies — LESCO, GEPCO, FESCO, IESCO, MEPCO, PESCO, HAZECO, HESCO, SEPCO, QESCO, and TESCO — and each one runs its own connection process for its own territory, so there's no way to apply through the wrong company by mistake as long as you pick the one covering your address.

Nearly all of them now take applications online rather than requiring an in-person visit to start the process. The portal covers domestic, commercial, agricultural, and industrial connections alike. Once you submit, the DISCO issues a Tracking ID and lines up a technical survey — an engineer visits the site to work out what it will cost to physically connect it to the network.

General Documents Required

The exact list varies slightly by DISCO and connection type, but nearly every application asks for the same core set:

• Property document copy (registry, sale deed, or allotment letter)
• Attested CNIC copy of the applicant
• Attested CNIC copy of a witness
• Copy of a neighbouring property's latest electricity bill
• Wiring Contractor's Test Report (from a licensed contractor)
